Liz Truss was received by Elizabeth II at Balmoral Castle on 6 September 2022, having been elected by Conservative Party members to replace Boris Johnson as Party Leader. She was the first prime minister to be received by the Queen anywhere other than at Buckingham Palace. It was one of the Queen's last official acts, before her death at Balmoral two days later.
